Park Hyatt Comporta is set to open in 2029, bringing the brand to Portugal for the first time

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Portuguese developer Coporgest have signed agreements to build Park Hyatt Comporta, a hotel and residences complex on Portugal's Atlantic coast due to open in 2029. It marks the Park Hyatt name's first appearance in the country.
The hotel is currently planned to hold 58 guestrooms and suites, six two-bedroom private villas and 22 fully serviced residences. Plans also list swimming pools, a wellness space, a fitness centre, a padel court, a kids' club and a group of restaurants.
Comporta is within an hour's drive of Lisbon's Humberto Delgado airport, in the Alentejo region. Hyatt describes the destination by its unspoiled shoreline, protected nature and low-key take on luxury, a contrast to the grander European addresses on the Park Hyatt roster.

The residences and the wider development
The Park Hyatt Comporta Residences comprise the six villas and 22 apartments attached to the hotel, sold to private owners with access to Park Hyatt's service and amenities.
Tina Necrason, Hyatt's global head of branded residential, described the residences as a natural extension of the surrounding coastline, and said Hyatt's approach to branded residences is built around consistency and connection for owners.
Beyond that, the broader Comporta Beach Resort complex will carry a separate tranche: 31 luxury villas and 49 apartments branded as the Luxury Beach Residences by Coporgest. Coporgest, a Portuguese developer specialising in high-end real estate and tourism, will market and operate that portion itself under its own name.
That split leaves Park Hyatt's own footprint at 58 rooms, six villas and 22 residences, a fraction of the roughly 80 further units Coporgest will sell separately on the same stretch of coast. Hyatt has not disclosed pricing, ownership costs or construction milestones ahead of the 2029 opening.
